HOPE is a feature length film about economist Hannah Binnenkamp (inspired by economist/journalist Heleen Mees) who ‘wants to do something’ about the grazing culture which she experiences as common at the international banks and financial institutions. She therefore moves to the heart of the financial world in New York and adopts a new name, American, and just like Mees, who was originally called Nijkamp: Hope, to a bank she happens to pass in her taxi. As Hannah Hope she knows how to work her way into a bank through a top man’s bed, to write a report about the mores prevailing there. Hannah is played by Monic Hendrickx (Penoza).
